i am a huge supporter of identity being temporary. if we said it wasn't, we'd be saying people can't change or that they're not allowed to because they've already been labeled. i have changed; i'm proof of the theory.
thinking the other day about the cons of being bisexual. i think one of the biggest is that you cannot continue to be seen as bisexual to people if you're in a long-term relationship. it's assumed you've chosen and you're not *really* the other half of your sexual identity, OR the relationship you're in is not seen as genuine 'cause you're *really* attracted to something else. seems it's worse if you're in a hetero relationship. the judgements seem to be more extreme, and you can be kicked out of your queer community. (standard pop example, but take the backlash towards ani. she's not really straight, she still wants chicks. or, she never was queer and did always prefer guys, that fake.)
