flaming red is a little problematic in comparison to the rest of patty's catalogue, yes. i will say, however, that mary sort of makes me weak in the knees, and i even enjoy the title track a lot.
when i was in college the first time (at unc-asheville) the gay group on campus (some sort of gsa, i think) made this mega-earnest video of that song 'tony.' it was pretty bad, lots of shots of white gay people looking really serious. woah, i taste vomit.
