First the : This David Kirsch workout dvd is so great. Especially the part when we do this shoulder exercise that's kinda weird and he says, "I gotta thank my Daddy, this one's his." Aw. Also Mr Kirsch looks like some very aryan, possibly gay-as-hell, very tan and lean alien. It's all very inspiring.

Now the more : I don't know how to explain it without sounding like I'm reducing my expectations. That's not it at all. I still have stardusted expectations and many of them are far-fetched and that's fabulous. It's just, hm, lately I've been releasing myself from the negative aspects of those expectations. Yknow, when sometimes "expectation" really means anticipation really means anxiety really means diappointment? Yeah, I'm slowly moving toward not doing that. And it feels really good to just be here with whatever it is at the moment, breathing.

Also, if anyone knows how it is possible to mail freshly-baked cupcakes to yr Texan girlfriend via the us postal service, please let me know. I haven't made them yet but I want to make sure they're fresh, and that the delicious frosting that I'll have crafted doesn't melt and crust onto the packing tape in transit.

edited to add: Oh yes, I forgot: I ordered a pretty cheap subscription to The Nation today. I realized I am so out of touch with even basic progressive-bent news, and I do feel kind of grown-up to have a subscription to a political magazine. How erudite, hahaha.

There is so much that I want to know about that I probably never will. Hence the skillshare with Nicole. First I better study up on rhizomatics!

being here in the moment breathing huh? that's what they're all about in this acting program i'm doing. good advice for living, on the stage and off. people think i'm nuts when i say i feel like acting can be a kind of meditation - but isn't that what it's all about?

Absolutely. Have you read Kate Bornstein? Ze definitely intertwines theatre with (watered-down) Buddhism and (watered-down) postmodernism, and it's really helpful, I think.

Get a tupperware/plastic bin that seals air tight. Pack as many cupcakes as you can into said bin and immediately put saran wrap over the bin top, make sure it's thoroughly sealed and put the top on. I would personally put wax paper over the top, over the cupcakes and under the saran wrap because it would be easier (I think) to wipe frosting off wax paper than saran wrap...but that's just me.

Then pack said bin into box with plenty of packing material (newspapers, nuts, whatever you have.)Makes sure the bin doesn't move around much and then send the package with the quickest service you can (afford).

It's important to have the least amount of room in the bin for the cupcakes to move around it, and the same with the bin in the box. The tighter everything is packed, the less mess they'll be on the receiving end.

Awesome! Will that work even in this heat?
Thank you so much for yr crafty advice. Who are you, by the way?
cheers,
Oli

If you seal the cupcakes right after you make them you should be good. You don't want to lose moisture is the thing, I don't think they'll stay warm the whole trip, maybe if you put something to insulate the cupcakes IN the bin and then use newspaper for packing in the box then they might be a little warmer than room temperature when they arrive, but it might turn out to be more trouble than its worth. You could also try to get it delivered overnight, but that will cost a lot.

Hi again,

Oh, you're "anonymous"! What's up man? How dyou know about mailorder cupcakes? Also, should I insulate them or not? I'm just so paranoid about the frosting melting in the heat.
Oh well, I guess even if they get really fucked up it's the thought that counts.

i would send them usps priority mail, which is 2-3 days. or if you have the money, you could overnight them through ups or fedex. you can get shipping quotes online if you know the weight of the package.

*purring in your ear*

It was good catching up with you last night.

Try Fedex overnight. They have a package system that would allow them to get there unharmed.

FedExing cupcakes, a brilliant idea! I'll certainly check it out.

And it was good to finally talk with you again, indeed.
