pharoah's dance
May. 10th, 2005 11:30 pmEven though it is absolutely kicking my ass right now I really love school. Tonight is Primal Scream and there is an a-cappella group singing in the library, the tones drifting down and between the books. It feels sorta magical, sorta contributing to my sustaining fantasies of philosopher/mage/scholar which pull me through. Why is tonight different than all other nights, when acappella annoys me as much as the next guy? Probably because I have yet to come up with a thesis for my philosophy paper which is due tomorrow. Plus I feel lame about it because I'm going to be revisiting transgender embodiment and questions of corporeality, which is what I did in my queer theory paper. At least this will be a quantifiably-different approach and, like both Matt and my mama said, at this point, just write about what you know.
Ergo, Merleau-Ponty, meet sexual difference. Sexual difference, meet trans bodily subjectivities.
