So, I'm down the shore with my family, prepared to head back...tomorrow! It's been sorta icky weatherwise and because today was my dad's birthday he schlepped us over to A.C. to eat cheesesteaks and walk on the boardwalk, family bondage to its highest and most endearing degree. I got sunburnt on my shoulders. Me, the palest swarthy guy around! Hmph.
Oh, and you know what I didn't do today?
Smoke a single cigarette.
One day, and counting. I guess I'm pretty proud, in that way that I wish I weren't quitting at all. I just keep telling myself, "just for the summer" so I can keep it manageable. The prospect of never smoking a cigarette again is a bit daunting right now.
I've been reading Grosz's The Nick of Time and learning about Darwinism and pure difference. I've been enjoying the special tv we have down here that lets me watch Sex and the City whenever I want. I've been missing Cristina like mad and wishing Rorymou never left and chewing plenty of Nicorette. I've been having mad (I'd say wicked if I were from Boston) productive and fascinating invaluable conversations with Keren to boot.
Work starts Wednesday and I need to call Val to figure out what time to come in. I'm getting nervous but I think that's just the angst of returning to a routine. (Reminding myself that actually I rather like working there, despite the 11 hour workday.)
Oh my g-d, I think my dog just had a seizure. I gotta go.
