The Ellen Show is so weird. It's like her lesbianism is the elephant in the room that pokes out its toe and says, "We'll act like I'm not here, but I mean, yknow, we all know I'm here and I'm really quite nice and funloving." She's wearing an outfit suggesting a suit, but tailored with bell-bottomed pants and horrific orange sneakers. It's really engaging; I can't stop watching. At the beginning of the show, the whole audience (all women, from what I could see) starts dancing, and Ellen is dancing, and it's so humiliating, but it's nice cos everyone's comfortable enough to shake their asses even though they don't know how. It's like all these women in blazers with nice glossy hair are grooving on her goofiness. Somehow this relates to the fact that she lost her show for being a dyke but I can't quite make the connection because I'm watching tv instead of thinking.

it does relate. it's like, ok maybe we couldn't handle watching you make out with women on national television, but damn if you don't talk about your sexuality and make us laugh we're cool with you. plus ellen's hot and i think a lot of straight women secretly have crushes on her, so they like to watch her shake her booty. personally, i love the show. like after that awards show where britney made out with madonna she had justin timberlake on and she was like... "ehem, so how about that kiss?... just so you know, i was as disgusted as you were." And of course there was all this chearing and laughing, but no one ever says it outright. it reminds me of an awkward family gathering where the favorite grandkid is gay and no one talks about it but generally most people are ok with it. which is kind of good in a way, because it's america.

sorry for rambling... trying to distract my mind.

Ellen's sort of the lesbian court jester. It's like high school, where a kid who's not "cool" can sometimes join the popular crowd by being funny.

Hi, BTW. :) I saw you on postqueer and added you. Hope you don't mind.

That is a very appropriate comparison.

(And hey, nice to meet you, I'll add you back.)
