So I was gonna go to this queer book exchange/potluck/party in Germantown with Hayden but then she got sick and couldn't go and I couldn't round up any mildly-nearby queer-or-queerish friends to go with me so I chickened out. This makes me feel awkward and not very brave. On the other hand, driving an hour each way to get to the house of a dyke I don't even know, filled with other queers I don't even know, to dump my 10 books that I can bear to part with in hopes of swooping up others and then standing around awkwardly and leaving to drive an hour back home doesn't sound particularly appealing. Hmph. If it were in Doylestown or some place close like that, I think I would've been brave and gone on my own.

Oh but yeah, I'm back from the Cape. It was nice. I finally got to meet my little cousin Everett who is almost a year old and absolutely fucking loveable. This from someone who doesn't particularly like babies, but what can I say: I love my cousin, plus he has really really soft skin and these weird little ears that have a bunch of folds and a pretty calm personality for an 11-month old.

Also I went kayaking.

I am a pale motherfucker and am seriously contemplating picking up (interpret that as you will) self-tanner. Is that crossing the line? Does this mean I will turn into someone who waxes their body hair?? (KP, you better catch that reference.)

I'm gonna go put some clothes on and find something fun to do with my day.
