Fire fire island I fell off the back of Cait's boat, went swimming in my undies and got caught by a riptide, slept in a kingsize bed w/mutual attraction presumably and no touching, smoked a bunch, communed with the wind which was whipping, got a suntan, drank water, biked around, woke up after dulled dreams wanting to lock my arms around the body next to me, read essays on Kristeva, looked at Cait out the corner of my eye when she couldn't see, and took many many trains/buses/ferries. It was lovely.

And now I am at home, suddenly feeling exhausted from travel and not really eating in 7 hours. So much overwhelmation at the prospect of packing for school...and cleaning here...and figuring out what/how/if I'm gonna do regarding the Republicrat National Convention...And there are so many people still to see, including Chris who's evidently called a bunch, and Rory + Jaclyn + Katie Lee and Christ knows how many other people in the next couple days. Good Goddess, I need to get kicked into action.

On the plus side...school! Unpacking aside, I get: QC gameshow, Cristina, Seth, Matt, the Mafia, the Lindsay/Helena/El Ehrenberg/Sojo gang, postmodern feminism (and you know what that means!), the apparently-amazing Uma Narayan, and so much more--and that's just from Saturday to Monday. Sigh.

I want to go sailing.

That's a shame. It seems like it should somehow be easier to organize to bring professors from nearby schools...but alas.

Hey, if there's any news about the whole nongendered housing options to-do at Wesleyan, I'd be very interested to hear how you guys are handling it. What an enormous task, in the academic realm at least. Good luck.

o stephano! yer taking the postmodern feminism class? i'm signed up but am feeling a little weary of it, even though it is good for my thesis. but if yer in it, it would make me so happy. the sosc class that linds recommended is not in wmst but you would most likely be able to get wmst credit for it. and, yes non-gendered housing, gender nuetral bathrooms. this year is the year to do these projects at vassar b/c our new dean of the college is apparently a dyke... and they are important campaigns we should get going anyway.

Woo woo El Ehrenberg! Dyou mean that you're "weary" or "wary"? Cos I'd rather you be wary...you can't be weary of postmodern feminism! (can you? actually, don't answer that. visions of my entire postgraduate life are flashing before my eyes.) And heya, what're you writing yr thesis on?

it'll be rad to see you...we can play the theory drinking game perhaps, if it's a repeatable experience.
