For about a year and a half, two years, I've been thinking about how to push pro-SM invocations of consent further...because I do think in some ways it's not an entirely satisfactory argument. However, since I've been 'thinking' about this in a very intermittent and random fashion, I haven't really come up with much yet.
So, does anyone have any resources about consent and troubling these somewhat-facile discourses about choice? It need not be explicitly about sexuality.
Also, did you guys know that, "S/M is the cat the Establishment does not want out of the bag- notbecause it does not understand your blood kinship, but because it does not want women to understand in such overt and brutal terms the very nature of the power relationship."? That's by Ti-Grace Atkinson, the very one who said, "Feminism is the theory and lesbianism is the practice." Opa.
I'm getting a little bit of scalp rot for the first time in a long time.
