thursday afternoon, while eating pb+j:
Jan. 20th, 2005 02:08 pmVassar has entirely fucked up my sense of time. Walking back to my room with 2 slices of bread for a peanut butter + jam sandwich (cos, you know, i'm 5) I thought to my self, "Je n'avais pas parler francais depuis l'annee dernier" and besides the fact that this is most likely entirely fucked French, it's actually not even true: It's been a year and a half. I feel like this is the beginning of the semester. Sophomore year is really weird. Last semester had so much awfulness (mono aside, just feeling disorganized and overwhelmed and overworked), but I mean, it definitely happened. It's not fall; there's snow on the ground. So seriously, I'm temporally screwed right now.
Chris Pureka is an amazing singer and I can't way to see her play again on the 29th. This Melissa Ferrick stuff better work out. I also cannot wait to see Keren (which is something we need to figure out) and then later, in the springtime, Ev + Corto.
Oh and the first day of Macro was surprisingly promising. Tim (the professor) is a dream in that he's not boring and seems potentially engaged with economics from a position of advocating for social justice...I guess we'll see. We did a go-around with names and something we like that begins with the same letter. Normally I hate this kind of shit but I was so relieved that we weren't getting heavy into econ on the first day that I chilled out. I tried to think of something that began with O. I figured I couldn't say "the Other" in the context of macroeconomics. Olives? I mean I do like them, but...I settled on "oxford shirts" which I feel is a decent answer. I probably like oxfords more than most olives anyway (greek ones aside).
In short: excited, with no sense of time. And if I get called "young lady" one more time I'm gonna fucken scream.
