It's like fiaca, except I haven't actually accomplished anything/indulged/been satiated, so maybe it's just plain old laziness.

I slept through morning services because I went to bed stoned. I think I needed the sleep, but still, I felt really bad when I woke up at 11:30. Thankfully, I made it in time for Tashlich which is my favorite part anyway.

There is so much work I could be doing right now. I think I will read for a little bit, then exercise, then make a list. And then go to the library. I'm not going to my seminar cos it's Rosh Hashanah, but I still need to do some work. Maybe the best thing to do would be to crank out my philosophy midterm so I can devote the rest of this week to my beast of an Uma paper. Yeah. Because this is my work and I love it. Remember that.

Ahhhh...

my calling?

Is it? How the fuck am I supposed to know? )I can't think of a better way to be rigorously schooled (as it were) than philosophy. I guess then the question emerges, Does it make sense to do this if you want to do gender studies just as much as philosophy? If you anticipate teaching gender studies/feminist theory just as much as you anticipate teaching philosophy? I feel like yes. But I am flailing.

I feel called. But I don't know if that's just my own projection. It seems like a wicked hard path to embark on unless it's what you have to do.

So, is it what I need to do with my life? I think so...

Thinking about mis/recognition, méconnaissance. Haraway says it is those who mis/recognize ourselves in discourse, who heed interpellation in in/appropriate(d) ways (Minh-ha), who have great responsibility and potential to shift its terms.

So, how to demilitarize with that in mind.

You can always tell I have work to do and can't do it because I post on livejournal like 7x a day. C'est dommage.

And now to crank out some stuff about Anaximander, Heraclitus, and yes, Parmenides. Oh boy.
