So my roommates and I got drunk on cream ale while watching the State of the Union address and capped it off with a champagne toast to the new (for most of us) final semester, and I feel considerably more faithful re: the prospect of being more present on campus this time around, however that works out in terms of time. Watching the president clutching beer cans felt like 2004 but less desperate; sloughing off sadnesses over alcohol with friends felt like fall of last year but less sobering. And now they're making plans to go out while I sequester myself with my thesis, as joyfully as possible all things considered.

Of course I did-- one more thin gypsy thief! I'm not sure which CD I'm missing because they're back in PA...I think it was one half of the "Mah Baby/Sweetie Darling" mix.

And you and Cathy need to make plans w/me toutesuite for a visit sometime before graduation, okay?
